The Tien Shan mountain region is a vast and majestic mountain range in Central Asia, spanning across multiple countries including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and China. Known for its stunning natural beauty, Tien Shan is characterized by towering peaks, rugged landscapes, and sprawling glaciers. The name “Tien Shan” translates to “Celestial Mountains“, reflecting the awe-inspiring and heavenly quality of the scenery.
Kyrgyzstan is home to a significant portion of the Tien Shan mountain range, boasting stunning peaks, valleys, and alpine meadows. The landscapes are a haven for trekkers, mountaineers, and nature enthusiasts. Issyk-Kul, one of the world’s largest alpine lakes, is also a notable feature.
Trekking to Ala-Kul Lake is a popular and rewarding adventure, offering breathtaking mountain scenery and a pristine alpine lake. The lake is situated at an altitude of approximately 3,600m, which is also the highest camping ground for this trek.
