We are forming a team to climb Island Peak (Imja Tse, 6,189m), one of Nepal’s most iconic peaks located in the heart of the Everest region. This expedition not only offers the challenge of a high-altitude summit but also takes you along the renowned Everest Base Camp (EBC) trail, ensuring a well-paced acclimatisation process amid breathtaking mountain scenery and vibrant Sherpa communities.
Our planned itinerary emphasises gradual altitude gain to support physical adaptation and maximise summit success. By reaching EBC at 5,380m before the climb, participants will be well-positioned to adjust to the demands of Island Peak’s elevation and conditions.
The ascent itself provides a valuable introduction to alpine climbing in the Himalayas. The route features glaciated terrain, fixed-line sections, and an exhilarating final ridge to the summit. While prior high-altitude trekking experience is advised, no advanced technical climbing background is required. To equip you with the necessary skills, pre-trip training will be conducted in Singapore, focusing on essential mountaineering skills such as the use of harnesses, crampons, ascenders, and fixed ropes. These foundational skills will then be reinforced and practiced in the field, with hands-on training at Island Peak Base Camp under the guidance of our experienced climbing guides.
