Mt Fansipan, also known as “The Roof of Indochina,” stands at 3143m, making it the highest peak in Vietnam and the region. It’s a favorite destination for trekkers seeking to elevate their hiking experience while enjoying stunning landscapes.
We will be taking the Tram Ton route:
The Tram Ton trail is the most popular path for trekking Mt Fansipan, renowned for its gradual ascent. The trek begins at 1900m above sea level and covers a distance of 13 km to the summit. While the route can be completed in a day, most trekkers opt for a 2D/1N experience to fully enjoy the journey. This pacing also allows for better acclimatisation and more opportunities to take in the breathtaking views of lush forests and rugged mountain terrain.
This trek is an excellent choice for those looking to advance their trekking skills. Though not classified as easy, the trek is highly manageable with some pre-training, making it a great challenge for intermediate hikers. A unique advantage of trekking Mt Fansipan is the availability of a cable car system. After reaching the summit, we will descend via cable car, significantly reducing strain on the knees. This option also saves time, allowing us to explore the charming town of Sapa before taking the sleeper train to Hanoi!
