Trekking to Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain in Africa and one of the Seven Summits, is a dream for many adventurers. The trek to Kilimanjaro offers a unique and challenging experience for those seeking to reach its summit. One of the most remarkable aspects of the Kilimanjaro trek is the incredible diversity of landscapes you will encounter. The mountain has multiple ecological zones, including rain forests, moorlands, alpine deserts, and glaciers. This variety makes the journey visually captivating.
Kilimanjaro stands at 5895m above sea level, which means that trekkers will need to deal with altitude-related challenges. Altitude sickness can be a concern, and it’s essential to acclimatise properly to reduce the risk of this condition. There are several trekking routes to choose from, each offering different experiences in terms of scenery, difficulty, and duration. We are taking the 8-days trek via Lemosho Route, making it a 10-days trip!
The ultimate goal of a Kilimanjaro trek is to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the mountain. This requires traversing steep, rocky terrain and navigating through different climate zones. The summit day is particularly challenging due to the high altitude and cold temperatures. We will hire local guides and porters to assist with the trek. They will help with carrying equipment and supplies, preparing meals, and ensuring safety on the mountain. This trek will be led by Joanne Soo who has extensive experience with trekking at high altitude. Embarking on a trek to Mount Kilimanjaro is an adventure of a lifetime, and having a Singapore trek leader along the journey adds significant value to the experience. Joanne is not only experienced in high-altitude trekking but also familiar with the unique challenges of Mount Kilimanjaro. Safety is a top priority on any trek, especially at high altitudes. Joanne is trained to handle emergency situations, ensuring that any health or safety concerns are promptly addressed.
We will also organise group training and trip briefing to prepare trekkers for the trek.
