Trekking Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest free-standing mountain and one of the Seven Summits, is a dream adventure for many. Rising to 5895 m, the climb presents both a thrilling challenge and the need to manage altitude-related effects through proper acclimatization. Along the way, trekkers are treated to a stunning variety of landscapes, from lush rainforests and moorlands to alpine deserts and glaciers.
We are returning to lead this popular trek to the “Roof of Africa.” For this journey, we will take the scenic 8-day Lemosho Route, making it a 10-day adventure filled with diverse terrain, breathtaking views, and the unforgettable experience of reaching the summit.
The ultimate goal of a Kilimanjaro trek is to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the mountain. This requires traversing steep, rocky terrain and navigating through different climate zones. The summit day is particularly challenging due to the high altitude and cold temperatures. We will hire local guides and porters to assist with the trek. They will help with carrying equipment and supplies, preparing meals, and ensuring safety on the mountain. This trek will be led by Joanne Soo who has extensive experience with trekking at high altitude. Embarking on a trek to Mt Kilimanjaro is an adventure of a lifetime, and having a Singapore trek leader along the journey adds significant value to the experience. Joanne is not only experienced in high-altitude trekking but also familiar with the unique challenges of Mt Kilimanjaro. Safety is a top priority on any trek, especially at high altitudes. Joanne is trained to handle emergency situations, ensuring that any health or safety concerns are promptly addressed.
We will also organise group training and trip briefing to prepare trekkers for the trek.
